Lucky Beach in Tangalle, Sri Lanka will be a place you want to retire. Located directly on the beach, Lucky Beach hotel has seven room with both double and triple occupancy. 

For about $16 USD / night (or $8 USD per person based on duel occupancy,) you will be living in paradise. 

While the rooms may be VERY basic including a bed, mosquito net, and bathroom, there is no reason why you would want to be in your room for anything besides sleeping. 

The hotel has a bar and restaurant offer some quite possibly the best view in Sri Lanka. 

In Tangalle and neighboring towns in Southern Sri Lanka, it is an absolute must that you try the fresh fish that the locals catch directly from the sea in your front yard. 

There are not many places on Earth where you can find more fresh, tasty, fish at an extraordinarily cheap price than Tangalle. 

The restaurant at Lucky Beach offers breakfast, lunch and dinner and offers a variety of choices, many of which are delicious seafood options. 

While on Lucky Beach you will likely want to spend the day relaxing on your own private beach and swimming in the warm, crystal clear sea. 

Each morning local fisherman come to the beach and pull in their catch for the day. They are happy to accept any volunteers that want to help pull in the (very heavy) load, and will even offer you compensation in the payment of fish for all of your hard work. 

Become a Sri Lankan fisherman for a few days, and enjoy your hard rock by eating fresh, free fish for dinner. 

A visit to nearby Mirissa is also recommended to enjoy their beaches, bars and restaurants.
